A true threat is under way which many citizens are unaware of, yet the impact will have dire results for all children. A nationalized set of educational standards is being pushed through many state legislatures with no concrete knowledge of what these standards mean for our children.
Instead of higher educational goals which encourage the development of critical thinking skills, the new curriculum becomes a race to the middle not to the top for our children.
Common Core, the name of the nationalized standards program, currently only covers two subject areas: math and english. However it sets in motion the framework for total inclusion of all pre-K through 12 education. Eventually these nationalized standards will be included curriculum for both home school and charter students. In fact the publisher of the ACT has already agreed to adapt the test to be in-line with the nationalized standards.
Understand that Common Core is not just different measures of learning through tests but entirely different methods of teaching. In Indiana, for example, the current standards in math are higher then what will be expected with the new material. We are dumbing down our kids. Currently educators are allowed to adapt material to individual student needs in learning, this no longer will this be allowed. Curriculum in Common Core is only allowed to be taught in one manner. Huge corporations such as Microsoft are pushing Common Core because of the future windfall of dollars they will receive with its implementation in creating programs for testing. Local communities will have no say in what is taught or how it is taught, never mind that a vast majority of dollars which fund education come from the state not the federal government. And who does not believe that local school districts and the community know better what their students need and how it should be taught?
Approximately a month ago Tea Party Patriots (TPP) sent over 300,000 undecided voters a copy of The Determinators movie, a pocket Constitution and a push card with the following message
You have a “choice between two fundamentally different visions of the future”
What Will You Choose?
More Government or More Personal Freedom
Don’t you owe it to yourself to spend 2 hours reviewing this before
Election Day to evaluate your choices?
We aren’t telling you how to vote—we know you are smart enough
To know what is best for America.
TPP has set up a phone banking system to reconnect with these undecided voters and we want you to help.
Connect to TPP here, you will be asked to sign in with your information. Then the site will allow you to get started.
We know many people feel uncomfortable making calls, but what are willing to do to save the Republic?
Michelle Malkin posts a great article on the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). From her article:
The persistent transnationalists who drafted LOST favor creation of a massive United Nations bureaucracy that would draw ocean boundaries, impose environmental regulations and restrict business on the high seas. They’ve tinkered with the document obsessively since the late ’60s, enlisted Presidents Clinton and Bush, and recruited soon-to-depart GOP Sen. Dick Lugar to their crusade. Ignore the mushy save-the-planet rhetoric. Here’s the bottom line: Crucial national security decisions about our naval and drilling operations would be subject to the vote of 162 other signatories, including Cuba, China and Russia.
While our sovereignty would be redistributed around the world, most of the funding for the massive LOST regulatory body would come from — you guessed it! — the United States. Forbes columnist Larry Bell reports that “as much as 7 percent of U.S. government revenue that is collected from oil and gas companies operating off our coast” would be meted out to “poorer, landlocked countries.” This confiscatory act of environmental justice would siphon billions, if not trillions, away from Americans. International royalties would be imposed; an international tribunal would be set up to mediate disputes. There would be no opportunity for court appeals in the U.S.

On May 16th the United States Senate voted on five separate budgets, the Presidents 2013 budget and four budgets sponsored by Republicans. One of the foremost duties of our elected officials in Washington is to pass a budget. The US budget prescribes where our tax payer dollars go. The inability of the Senate to pass a budget is a gross dereliction of their Constitutional duty.
Is it any wonder that the US debt limited has been risen 5 times in less than 4 years? How can a government stay fiscally responsible when there is no play book guiding where money is to be spent? Each of the last three years the federal debt has grown by over a trillion dollars. For every dollar the government spends it borrows forty-four cents. If you were to run your household budget in this manner where would you be in say 6 months, a year or like the Senate 3 years?
The November election is important in determining the direction of the country. Elected officials should be placed on notice that their constituents expect them to fulfill their Constitutional obligations which includes passage of a federal budget. Sound the alarm patriots, engage in conversations with those you meet because this country is worth fighting for and the time is now.
