Today starts a grassroots campaign to highlight the lack of leadership in Washington.
Inspired by Clint Eastwood’s empty chair dialogue, grassroots Patriots from around the country are placing empty chairs in their yards. This action is designed to create a visual impact indicating Patriots frustration in addressing the key issues which threaten the foundation of our Republic.
Be creative and highlight what you believe are the important issues of the day. Examples;

Early afternoon session will focus on learning about the best strategies, tools, & tactics to Get Out the Vote! Topics include how to effectively door-knock, make voter ID calls, plant yard signs, use Twitter & Facebook, & garner earned media.
Afternoon session will feature keynote speaker Glenn Beck, who will be joined by an incredible slate of speakers.
The entire event runs from 1:00p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST.

Often times we hear the statement, “this is the most important election of our life time.” You have an opportunity to determine whether we remain a sovereign nation, blessed with unprecedented freedoms guaranteed through our humanity or drift off into a quasi-socialist nation where our freedom depends on unelected bureaucrats in Washington,D.C.
What value do you place on your freedom? We are reminded of Thomas Paine from December 23, 1776:

At the beginning of the Revolutionary war, only 10% of the population were active in the battle for Independence. What value have you for freedom? Are you willing to donate time to guarantee that your sons and daughters, nieces and nephews, have the same or greater freedom which you live under? The country is headed toward an abyss which threatens our very way of life and the things we hold dear. What value have you for freedom?
Borrowed from the success of Tea Party groups across the nation, NIPats will be hosting Instant Tea Rallies throughout the area.
Instant Tea Rallies will be structured as educational outreach events to inform our neighbors of issues the mainstream media ignore. Participants will be encouraged to bring American flags and signs which relate to specific topics. The rallies will also be an opportunity for Patriots to meet each other and to know they are not alone in standing for our Constitutional values of limited government, fiscal responsibility and a free market system.
NIPats is asking Patriots for ideas of where to hold these rallies. Event permits are not required for Instant Tea Rallies.
Do you know of a busy street, somewhere that will has high visibility and enough room for Patriots to express their first amendment rights? A typical Instant Tea Rally would last about a two hours.

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
One of the cornerstones of our republic are elections were only eligible voters cast ballots which determine their representation. In 2008, the Lake County Board of Elections found the first 2,100 of 5,000 submitted new voter registration forms from the group ACORN “fraudulent.”
The non-partisan organization, True the Vote, is a citizen-led effort to restore truth, faith, and integrity to our elections.
From True the Vote: Our government was built upon the belief that election results represent the true will of the people and our election processes were always intended to be supported by citizen volunteers. We are helping stop corruption where it can start – at the polls.

Mark your calendar: IFIRE a volunteer grassroots organization that works on a state and national level to push for responsible policies regarding immigration and illegal immigration, is hosting a local movie showing of “They Come to America: The Cost of Illegal Immigration” at the Hobart theater.

This event should be attended by anyone with a concern regarding illegal immigration in the United States.
Michelle Malkin posts a great article on the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). From her article:
The persistent transnationalists who drafted LOST favor creation of a massive United Nations bureaucracy that would draw ocean boundaries, impose environmental regulations and restrict business on the high seas. They’ve tinkered with the document obsessively since the late ’60s, enlisted Presidents Clinton and Bush, and recruited soon-to-depart GOP Sen. Dick Lugar to their crusade. Ignore the mushy save-the-planet rhetoric. Here’s the bottom line: Crucial national security decisions about our naval and drilling operations would be subject to the vote of 162 other signatories, including Cuba, China and Russia.
While our sovereignty would be redistributed around the world, most of the funding for the massive LOST regulatory body would come from — you guessed it! — the United States. Forbes columnist Larry Bell reports that “as much as 7 percent of U.S. government revenue that is collected from oil and gas companies operating off our coast” would be meted out to “poorer, landlocked countries.” This confiscatory act of environmental justice would siphon billions, if not trillions, away from Americans. International royalties would be imposed; an international tribunal would be set up to mediate disputes. There would be no opportunity for court appeals in the U.S.
